My post? My goodness. Quote as you like, it will only cost you my two cents. I don't even know what a wikia is. ;-) |

Done, thanks:)

Interesting that you need such a strict schedule and all those alternations etc. Gradually you want to be able to switch between any two languages from your list, so I recommend having more fun in addition to your structured sessions. Try GLOSS and lyricstraining, for example. If you use Anki, I'd do mixed sessions (ie your cards come up in a random order, in all languages).

Oh, this thing... Now I am already quoted there *blushing*. I just hope that any passersby realize that it is only the jester fooling around.
If you have access to this Wiki thing, is it possible that someone edit Iversen's Word lists article? The original has obviously been taken from his Guide to Learning Languages, but he has edited and expanded his article almost a year ago. Most people will come via Google and see only the Wikia page. At least a link ("Updated version") to the new article should be placed.

Young lady, the strict schedule is necessary to keep me from taking up again Russian. That thou shalt know best. Am I youthful, reckless, full of vigor? Who has the discipline, who can stand the test? :P

Everyone has access to the wiki thing, that's the point :) go to the article and choose edit.
Also, sadly very few people ever find the wikia. But it will be good to link to this when someone opens yet another thread about learning two languages at the same time...
Finally, it's more like the guide consists of what Iversen wrote for various threads and for the wikia.

Doesn't work for this article. :-( I also don't know who runs the site.

well, wikia.com is a big site that provides space for thematic "mini-wikipedias". there are wikias about harry potter, lotr, game of thrones, a lot of other stuff as well. this one was started by someone from the forum, not sure who tbh.
yeah i now see that this particular article is locked for unregistered users... um can you explain which text should be added?

There are some largely new sections in the updated article, about Repetition and Memorization techniques, on the other hand there is material in the Wikia text, one of the illustrations at least, that is not there in the Guide. I can't say at first sight if there are further emendations. The article would have to be edited with caution.
The current revised version is buried in the thicket of old forum posts, and the original one much easier to find in the Wikia. Not too big a deal maybe, but still a bit annoying that it is blocked and we don't even know who has access.
Word lists - old version on Wikia
Word lists - updated and expanded version in Iversen's Guide on the forum
Anyway, we are here on a thread about simultaneous study, not word lists. I found the updated article last year already, but didn't know how to edit the Wikia, nor could I see who has access, in what way it was related to the forum, and their was no contact form either.

Go ahead and create a real, named Wikia account, and you should be able to edit it without any problems. I looked at the page history, and it appears that the page has been under constant attack by some spammer who wants to insert 15 pages of drivel about something called "Goosebumps" in the middle of the article.
Another user named Dgryski has removed this spam about a dozen times, and (judging from the comments in the page log) has gotten thoroughly sick of doing endless cleanup of the same inexplicable mess. Apparently Dgryski has some sort of moderator powers on the wiki, because he added a lock which prevents anonymous users from editing the page.
If you make a real account, you can go ahead and edit normally.
