I Spoke with a guy from Holland who said he feels that his language "Dutch" is very ugly.
This is the second person from Holland who has said this to me.
What do you feel is the ugliest sound language..just for fun..not to offend any country..

I like the sound of Dutch a lot. Although I wouldn't try to learn it unless I was going to live there, I definitely think it's one of the coolest sounding languages in Europe.
I don't know how people whisper in Dutch though. All the throat sounds would give them away.

I also want to say that I am not sure that it's such a good idea to discuss which languages people think are are ugly. Nobody should have to feel that there is something wrong with their language.

It's totally dependent upon the individual. Your Dutch friend might not like his language, but I watched Zwartboek the other day and the Dutch accent was very pretty and distinct like the Swedes, though not so sing-songy. I particularly like the double-Os, double-Es, and the Gs.
Russian and German seem to get bad reps, but my family is Russian and we also speak a little German since my grandma was thrown into a German labor camp during the war, so neither language bothers me. In fact they're really pretty if the accent is spot on.

This was already a topic. The OP of that thread actually mentioned Dutch too. The thread spawned 11 pages. You might want to take a look at it. It ended badly. Take it from someone well experienced with potentially highly opinionated posts: You're going to really have to keep an eye on this thread to make sure it doesn't turn ugly.
Still, maybe it garnered some responses you'll find interesting.
Ugliest Language
The last post was this:
Please remember that this is a language learning forum.
If you wish to discuss the relative merits (or otherwise) of your own particular nation/culture/ethnicity/etc. I'm sure that there are plenty of other forums available out there in cyberspace which will be happy to hear your views.
I hope anyone who posts on this thread will take this message to heart and neither give nor take offense.

I enjoy the look of written Dutch (with all of the double letters and diphthongs), and sort of like the sound of spoken Dutch. I am for some reason attracted to "harsh" sounding languages (like Arabic, one of my favorites!), and Dutch is not an exception. I don't particularly, like it, though... I am sort of in a balance between like and dislike.
Another language that I really don't like is Danish. I really do apologize to all Danes and Danish-learners! I like how it looks when written, but much prefer the sound of Swedish or Norwegian. The spoken language sounds to me like a messy soup of weird vowel sounds with the occasional consonant thrown in.
As an American, I think I should be able to say I don't like my own language. I really do NOT like the sound of American English. British English is MUCH better-sounding. Granted, it is the "real" English! But still, as a whole, I really don't particularly like English. Maybe this is just because it's my native language.
