Why else would someone insult a group of people? Talk to some gay people and call them "fags" and see how they like it. I'm sure they won't find it as funny as you do. If you had the majority population of a country hating you because of the way you were born, you wouldn't be happy all the time either. Just ask African-Americans about segregation and discrimination in first half of the 20th century.

You see, in England it's slang for a cigarette. You say fanny..in England that means vagina. You are getting all worked up for no reason. Are you really that highly strung or do you just enjoy it? Of course I wouldn't, because by context, and because you are English, I would surely understand what you were talking about. I might also say to be careful about saying "fag" here, as it is an insult, not a cigarette. Regional differences have nothing to do with this though, we're talking about homophobia and insulting people.
The point we're trying to make is, is that it's not OK to insult anyone because of the way they were born. It's not OK to do. Why are you so fervently defending hatred? You that just because 3 people said one thing, that doesn't mean it's true. Well, what those 3 people are saying is in fact true. Those people are saying that it's not OK to insult people because of their homosexuality, while you disagree with them. As you can see, since you disagree with them on the fact that it's not OK to insult people because they are homosexuals, then you are saying that it is OK to insult homosexuals, which you've been saying all long. Tell me this: is it OK to insult someone based on their sexuality, because they don't fit the perceived norm? You have answered your own question. It's all about context. Do you seriously believe the comment you affect outrage about was intended as a direct swipe at homosexuals?
I'm inclined to think, based on your reactions and over-emotive responses that had a word been used that could have been said to be offensive to Albino Greendlandic vegetarian dwarfs then you would claim to have some of them in your family and that you were also considering the vegetarian option. I did say I'd withdraw but feel I must comment on your latest spewing of hysterical vitriol.
I have no need to answer you question as I have never asserted it's ok to insult someone based on their sexuality. What I have asserted though is that some people feel the need to take offence and actively seek to do so. Even if it means they ignore explanations and only go by their own interpretation. And for the record - no, I don't think it's right to insult someone based on their sexuality. I also don't think it's right to bandy about phrases such as "homophobic" and "bigot". If you don't think that it's OK, then why are you defending insulting people based on their sexuality? You said that the people saying that it's not OK were wrong, but now you're on their side. So yes, you did say you disagreed with them. Either stop lying or show some consistency.
I have explained to you that I am not "actively seeking to take offense". Whitefish said that he (or she) himself (or herself) is not a heterosexual, and indeed takes offense at the use of "gay" as an insult, and so do I. So that makes 2 out of the 3 of us. Jinx could be something other than heterosexual herself (I don't want to say "homosexual", since there aren't just two sexualities), and takes offense at it herself, or is just an intelligent person and is explaining why many people find that offensive, because parasite doesn't seem to think so. So no one here is seeking to be offended. And no, if it appears you are a bigot, then there is nothing wrong with calling you one.
