Ireland is also famous for leprechauns (Irish: leipreachán) , a small race of people who love, and hoard, gold. It's very easy to spot a leprechaun in Ireland, as they are usually found in the Dáil (Irish Parliament).

I live in Belgium. It is a flat country, where they speak one language in the North and another in the South. I live in the city in the middle where they (officially) have to speak both. They make nice chocolate here, and nice beer.

I am from Sweden, one of the few countries (maybe the one?) that has taken on Russia and won! (but we won't try that again just yet... ;-)
Vikings lived in Sweden until ~1200 when it finally became Christian. Sweden is a country of endless PINE FORESTS, lakes, snow, nature-lovers, midnight-sun and tall fair people. It is one of the geographically largest countries in Europe but it has a small population of only 9 million. In the far north it's icy and mountainous with reindeers and wolves. In the very far south is excellent agricultural land and a very long motorway bridge which connects Sweden with Denmark. Nowadays Sweden is a fairly high-tech country and has an overall good standard of living compared with most countries in Europe.. Sweden has a legacy of almost a century of social-democratic rule. Some very odd socialist practices are still in use. Wealth is more evenly spread among citizens than what is the case in most countries. Brazil......I wonder how exactly I should tell you all about my country, especially my homestate, Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost Brazilian state.
I've travelled around my country these years and then found out there are many "mini-countries" inside only one.....several stunning landscapes, cities growing at each day and much less people living in the countryside....from the Amazon Rainforest to its impressive 5000-mile coastline.....from the poor Northeast to the richer S.Paulo state as well as the south of the country.... As for corruption, there's no reason to be proud of being regarded as one of the most corrupted countries in the world....where tax payers pay lots of taxes and in return, nothing....most people are commited to capitalism and they are not willingly to hit the streets to fight for a better life, against all odds...and the Government, of course....however, in other South American countries this fact happens somehow.... Brazilian justice....no comments, dudes! Tourism has a huge potential, but authorities cannot see how good tourism industry could be if there were smarter and more capable people to deal with it and thus to make plans to make it flourish....also the way my country is publicized around the world is still a crap.....there are no only naked women, prostitutes and slums with thugs and drug traffickers..... Things have been bad here, but there's something that still holds me out here and makes me wonder why is so difficult to leave it....besides my home state, my other fave states are Acre, Piauí, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Norte, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul and Minas Gerais. Finally, language teaching here is still like a "baby creepping on the floor"...I mean, of course, more people have sought to study languages compared to the previous years, but is still quite difficult to come across guys who are truly commited to study any language passionately but not considering professional demands. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

I come from primarily Slovakia, Ireland and America, even though I live in Canada. I suggest you discover the marvelous tool of Wikipedia if you require further information on any of my countries of origin/dwelling. =)
