But the reason why I am up so late is because I signed up for the free one-week trials at RussianPod101.com and SpanishPod101.com, where I downloaded every single podcast from RussianPod101 and all the Upper Intermediate/Advanced podcasts from SpanishPod101. For Russian, I would love to do just one short little podcast a day to have more of a basis for when I do decided to study it. And for Spanish, I figure it's about time I start learning some more specialized vocabulary. I'll talk your ear off about the weather or how my day went or even the languages I am studying. But ask me what I ate for breakfast or where in the garage I set the hammer and I will ask if you speak English :P Oh, I've also been looking for a Portuguese (from Brazil or Portugal) podcast-type thing to follow kind of like I have planned with Russian, one podcast here and there when I feel up to it. I found Tá Falado and started through the pronunciation lessons today. Then, in ellasevia's log, I saw them mention BrazilianPodClass and proceeded to download all the current lessons. I think after going through Tá Falado, if I still feel up to studying another language, I will continue with these. Oh yea, and I signed up at Livemocha and started the Portuguese lessons fashioned after the language as it is spoken in Portugal. There are only two beginners courses for the Portuguese version, I think there are more for the Brazilian lessons. I have also been eying those Ukrainian lessons... But now I should go to bed. French:
Mnemosyne repetitions. Portuguese: Two lessons on livemocha. I had wanted to do more today but ended up getting tied down in work for my parents. Sometimes I wonder why I want to learn more than one or two other languages. I would like to be able to speak to people in several languages, but the amount of time required to maintain them would prevent me from having any time to actually speak with anyone! 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Thanks, J-Learner :) You're right, of course, I just hope I will be fortunate enough to live in a situation where I can speak the languages I study daily!
Todays news: I wrote another lang-8 journal in Spanish. I decided that since I have so much trouble thinking up topics to write about, I would just pick an article on Wikipedia and write about that. My next few lang-8 posts should be about the independence of Argentina. Otra publicación de lang-8. Esta trata de la Primera Junta que se estableció (en Argentina) después de la captura del rey español por Napoleón Bonaparte. Se puede decir que estoy un poco harto del francés y listo para estudiar otro idioma. Todavía me gustaría volver a estudiarlo algún día, pero desde el principio mi mente ha sido con el alemán y el español. No sé si esta decisión es definitiva o no (la de cambiar el francés por el alemán), pero me enamoro cada vez más del español, así que pensaré en todo lo dicho mientras enfoco mis estudios en el español.

Una publicación de lang-8. Esta vez escribí sobre una logia masónica argentina, la Logia Lautaro. Lucharon por la independencia de Argentina (y todo América del Sur) de España a principios del siglo XIX.
Hoy terminé la parte no grabada de mi libro, y mañana pienso escuchar el resto. Después, pienso escucharlo una vez más, pero leyendo el español y no el inglés. Escuché unos podcasts de RussianPod101 y hice unas lecciones de portugués en LiveMocha. Es todo una distracción, lo sé, pero me divierto. Creo que por el momento voy a limitar mi estudio de francés al vocabulario, pero si en unas semanas me quedo con ganas de estudiarlo, lo haré. Si no, estudiaré otra cosa (como alemán o ruso) o me esforzaré a empujarme (por fin) hacia la fluidez española. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Español:
Escuché unos episodios de nivel intermedio de SpanishPod. Los puntos gramaticales y el vocabulario introducido no han sido nada nuevo para mí, pero los intercambios breves difundidos a lo largo del podcast son útiles. También volví a escuchar el audiolibro de "Cien años de soledad", esta vez leyendo el texto español. Oh, y he visto un par de películas: "Los amantes del círculo polar" y "Di que sí". Me gustó la primera más ya que parecía un poco más seria, aunque la verdad es que disfruto de cualquier película que veo. No importa lo estúpido que sea el tema, la película en conjunto generalmente me divertirá. Portugués: He escuchado unos episodios de Ta Faládo y casi he terminado con el primer curso (Portugués de Portugal 101) en LiveMocha. Me quedan 3 lecciones. Ruso: Un podcast de RussianPod al día y una lección de Ruso 101 en LiveMocha. Francés: Sigo con el estudio del vocabulario, haciendo mis repeticiones cada noche y de vez en cuando añadiendo unas palabras. Tengo casi 1400 palabras en mi "baraja" (quiero decir: conjunto de naipes). Español de nuevo: Acabo de ver una película acerca de los guerrilleros y las guerrilleras antifranquistas, llamada "La guerrilla de la memoria". Fue interesante, pero muy difícil entender, porque las personas entrevistadas fueron bastante viejas y sus voces no eran muy claras, aunque supongo que el problema mayor fue que hablaban español :P Edited by Crush on 07 October 2009 at 1:56am 1 person has voted this message useful |
