Sunday post and To Do for the Week

Went skating with my girls and listened to Portuguese on the iPod while skating, can't really sound out, so I have to consider that as not being too effective. I've found a few films in Portuguese and also have a nicer stock in German so I'll try to integrate that into my learning plan over the next weeks. Travel this week made me move my face to face lesson to Monday, so I missed that. But it's been an everyday week - every day this week I worked both my German and Portuguese so I'm satisfied with that. Oops, the Italian was missed!

Simple objective: Do some DE and PT every day and IT at least once a week.

Last week and To do for this week - Tactics an Objectives
German
- (R)DW website, Continue reading "Der Andere" - missed only read a few pages but replaced with Twilight. Although I have to say that I found myself leaving the German and reading the English part more but I found it interesting and the German schwer. Now continue review and reread focus more on the German.
- (V)1400+ cards into Mnemosyne and keep up on SRS - met but still behind on the cards, slowly catching up by doing some every day and activating new categories. The number of cards activated are those that I consider "in the hand" or "held". Now: continue review but also continue to add.
Holding 450. Now - let's move that up.
- (W)post in Lang-8 not met - really having difficulty getting myself to write - true for all languages.
- (L)Radio or TV, Assimil met continue
- (S)Conversations with colleagues - met continue

Portuguese
- Portugues is moving nicely - obviously still a biginner but I'm sure I could now survive with my basics.
- Pimsleur 23 - This is getting harder and I am no longer breezing thru the material - I need to pay more attention to tenses, pronouns, etc... Good.
- Assimil (4)? Haven't really moved forward on that
-SRS - Injected 557 cards this week of which 200 are 'in hand'. Now: move the rest in hand.

Italian
- Did nothing. So the objective is: do some!

Huge hole. We suddenly arrive on the end of February and I just have not been arround for the last 3 months. How time flies. Still at it but it's been rather passive these last months. Ok, this marks the end of the pause.

Hola hija mia!
Nao por Brasil. :(

Brazil did not work out but I'm still interested in the language now that I've kick started it. Still traveling heavily in Europe and that has cut into my posts, but the language learning continues. And work does look like it with take me to Latin America in the next months.

So -- current focus: German - F2F lesson tomorrow that I need to prepare and get back into Seiri, Seiton, Seisō ... my Shitsuke (sustaining the system) has not been very good.

Just joined Team A for the Team TAC in 2010. Of course, encouraging one another and learning from the learning methods of the other is part of it. I'm also looking forward to seeing how the new interaction can further help language acquisition.

So starting off - clean desk. This might seem trivial but for me having a good work space is essential. Put away the various bike parts, battery chargers, notes from my daughters and extraneous bits...

Let's build this up slowly.

Day Report
German - I want to work on temporale Konnektoren und Präpositionen - having trouble with these...
als - when (past)
wenn - when (until)
während - when (while)
seitdem - since
bis - until

bevor - before
nachdem - (since) because/after
sobald - as soon as
