Ahora estoy escuchando Duetsche-Welle Langsam gesprochene Nachrichten. Ya! Trabajo llama!

EN: Perhaps I can write a few words in French, Spanish or, if I am not too timid, in German. I have to say that I am impressed by Iverson's thread. It's a good exercise.
But I don't know what I will write. Today, I am working from home and can this morning do another hour of language work.
But as my wife is not here these days, I need to do everything in the house alone and I am a little tired. I need to spend more time working mi vocabulary in German and less time playing with the Internet. This site is always balancing struggle between reading about what other's are doing and my studies. Now I am listening to Duetsche-Welle Langsam gesprochene Nachrichten. Yes! Work calls!

I think I need to summarize for myself a reminder of what my variant L-R Method should be:

1) Know your text; read it in English (source language).
2) L-R (TT): Read a small amount of the text in German (target), while listening to the audio.
3) L-R (TS): Listen to target audio, with text in a source language.
3.5) Pre-shadow (shadowing with closed eyes in front of the computer, focused on the rhythm and word understanding)
4) Shadow (vocalization and usage, vocal output training)
5) Scriptorium (visual conclusion and written output)

Actual

German
Assimil 54 - shadowing/scriptorium completed. Moving to next lesson.
Lesson 55 - Listening-Reading, Shadow x 3.
L.BVG - 6.3 5 new words.

Italian
Assimil 11 - prepared up to pre-shadowing.

Chinese
Pimsleur 3 - review 50%.

Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy reading your log as well. One quick tip about Irish names is that Daragh is the male version of Dara, but pronounced the same way.

Cheers,

Sorry, Daragh. Thanks for the tip.
---
Looked at the organization of my word lists and checked out the IRC chat -- not really language learning, more like bookshelving - an expression my wife and I use for busy work.
flashcards: Decided to keep things simple - one database in Mnemosyne for all German - I keep the Assimil stuff classified by lesson and the rest is hodgepodge default category.

But that does not work for the Flash my Brain application on the iPod, I need to do sets I can export. So back to classifying cards by chapter.

May 9th 2009 - Day 128
After getting my cards reorganized - updated my flashcard software

Actual

German
Cards - entered LBVG 6.1-.5 (100+ cards!) - learning and repetitions.
Assimil 55 - Shadowing..

Italian
Listened to Assimil 11-13. Lesson 10 - LR.

Chinese
LR - Assimil 5, Cards.

Started the day with card review and got the girls involved - they know about 50% of my study set off the bat, which is pretty good and the older ones can do them in 3 languages.
I need to create reduced sets (remove spaces) of the Assimil German tapes.
We'll go see a movie in German in the afternoon.

LR Exercise and material - Ich finde die Deutsche Welle Top-Thema Doku ausgezeichnet.

1) Download Top Thema automatically via podcast
2) Find the article and copy paste it into Google translate
3) Perfect LR exercise! And usually interesting.

Day 129 - Objectives
Continue on yesterday's excellent day. Create material for the week, try SRS with fill-in phrases on Chinese, see if that helps.

Actual

German
Cards - review. Added cards down to 5.6 - 10 cards or so.
Deutsche Welle Top-Thema: Essen ohne Geld.
Created audio files for the week.
Went to see Monster and Aliens in German with the girls.
Tried out busuu.com - breezed through the first A1 lessons.

Italian
Listened to L10

Chinese
Mea culpa

Day 130 - Objectives
I've decided to ad fill-in phrases on SRS with the cards that are not sticking, see if that helps. (Remember to spend less time repeating by spending time up front)
Discussed irregular verbs with the girls on the drive to school this morning.

Actual

German
Cards - reviewed 50.
Pass two on lesson 5 - Even these early lessons still have something to teach - "Lieber morgen" - preferably.
Words from LBGV 5.5 - only 5 new words

Italian
Reading L10 & L11

Chinese
Lesson 6 - L-R exercise and shadowing.
Review 1 shadowing, scriptorium, and cards.
Review of 2 shadowing.
