This is good news! I guess I have to wait a little longer for their release in the US.

Fantastic! Thank you for spotting it!
And to think that I nearly bought Chinesisch ohne muhe yesterday!
I'm going to order volume 1 today! I'm tempted to buy all three actually and save on shipping. I'll have to see how rich I feel later.

I have purchased the Chinese With Ease Volume 1 and Volume 2 just out of curiosity.
Hopefully, I will receive it from France sometime this month.
I am very pleased with my current materials. So, I may turn around and put it on eBay after I take a look.

If you do decide to resell them, I may be tempted to take them off your hands. I've never tried an Assimil course before.

I tried to order "Writing Chinese with Ease" from their site. The funny thing is the order seemed to be accepted and the interface said everything was OK, but they never asked for my VISA details !!?? Perhaps it is free ?! ;o)
I sent off a question by e-mail (first time in years I have written anything in French). Let's see what they say. (I do hope funny proprietary software isn't required to place an order, as happens sometimes.)

I had an answer back from them which didn't help with this at all really, but in the meantime the interface appears to have been fixed. I was able to order a couple of things now.

As of last night, I received the English version of Chinese with Ease Vol. 1 and Vol 2. There is a dictionary reference at the end of the second book for the two volumes. At a rough estimate, there appears to be only 1350 words for the two volumes. I like the grammar notes and explanations at the bottom of each page. The recordings are very clear and the tones are well enunciated. However, the recordings are very short. The dialogues do not appear to be very complex. Just simple conversational dialogues. Every seventh lesson is a revision of the previous lessons. Something that I really like is the direct translations. For example, 'Hong cha, you mei you?''. They give an regular English translation of 'do you have black tea?' and below that the direct translation 'black tea, have not have?'
I have not used that Assimil method. However, I feel that there is a lot more bang for the buck compared to Pimsleur for beginners. For those considering purchase and can't decide, I would buy the Assimil and rent/borrow the Pimsleur. You may wish to then graduate to Practical Chinese Readers or David and Helen in China for larger and more complex dialogues.
