I have the 1st course. It uses all of the writing systems. It's really good for when you're starting out. I don't know about the upper level courses - they might drop the romaji.

In Volume 2 it teachs you the hiragana and katakana and drops the romaji towards the end. Volume 3 is for the
Kanji.

All lessons 1-99 use all three writing systems.
