I'm not on the Polish Team, nor am I studying Polish anymore, but I just have to put in a vote for "Team Syrenka." I would literally love you all forever if you chose that, and it might even coax me into studying some Polish again...

One more name suggestion:
"Team Krówki" Krówki ('Little cows') are Polish fudge or soft toffees that all my Polish friends have at some point shared with me. I can even buy packets of them at my local supermarket. They're certainly famous throughout Poland, representing affection, comfort, endearment, sharing and participation. For the team's name, I second the love for Żubr but would suggest even Żubrówka, which is the famous
herbal vodka made from bison grass. Why Żubrówka? Because it's fundamentally polish (since the 16th century), it's strong, it's exotic, it has many characteristic polish letters (ż, ó, w, k) and it's a reward for hard work! We have an abundance of excellent names now. Too many to choose from and they are all good!
Hmmm . . . European bisons - that makes me think of large, determined, fearsome creatures, which is what we'll need to be to handle this language . . .well, OK maybe we don't have to be large. I love words with the letter Z, too. I also still like Reksio, and I've always wanted to see the European primeval forest, so that's a nice name, too.
Please do stop by and visit out Polish Team - and extra thanks to you for all your great work organizing the TAC last year and helping us to a good start this year. Well if I can't be a 'little cow' (Krówka) I might as well be a bison (Żubr).

It's true, so many good names to choose from. I like both Krówka and Żubrówka, and still fond of Białowieża -
where both the bison grass grows and where the bison live. So looks like everyone has their own personal favourite for the team name which incidentally doesn't happen to coincide with anyone else's. I will be visiting your log regardless of the name of your team, I like all the options. Żubr and Żubrówka seem to me to be most widely recognized Polish words among your names and Reksio is cute. I heard Żubrówka mispronounced many times as an answer to my question 'Do you know any Polish words?' and appreciated every single attempt. I feel honoured that you deciided to learn my language and offer my help.

Thank you very much Gosiak - we will appreciate help and insights from a native speaker! I hope we make some good progress learning your language in the coming year.
I think we will all have our own individual log thread with the team name on it, but should we keep this orginal thread open and each of us can make a short summary here of what we are working on and how it is going? It might be useful to have a central thread/main location for everybody.
