Today I studied Lesson 12 of Lehrbuch der Georgischen Sprache, but I decided only to read the exercises and not write them down. I need to speed it up. The lesson was mostly about motion preverbs. I'm starting to figure out the future and aorist of the motion verbs, but as for each specific preverb, I didn't bother learning them by rote. I have an idea of their meaning and will look each up and they show up in the upcoming lessons.

I don't know if it is intended or not, but Lerhbuch der Georgischen Sprache is turning up to be one of the funniest teenager/college student's soap opera.
At previous lesson, Tiko said she was going to the theater with her sister and invited Dato in. At today's lesson, they ended up at the theater without Tiko's sister. Then Tiko asked Dato if he wasn't going to their house after the play. Dato said no, he had to go watch football on TV. Today's lesson about the future. At one of the exercises I was supposed to transform present sentences into the future. I'm skipping this and others and I'm only reading the sentences.
The verbs for "to celebrate (a birthday)" and "to take off (pieces of clothing)" seem to be the same, იხდის? It can also mean "to pay"? 1 person has voted this message useful | |||||||||

This is the lesson about cooking. It's the one that made me abandon Hewitt's book. But Lerhbuch's lesson is more conversational, and I'm a little more aware of Georgian now.
Once again I went through the lessons and read the proposed sentences for the exercises, but didn't bother writing them down. I learned a bit of the future of 'to have', nothing special it seems. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||||||||

I just finished studying lesson 15. Still not doing exercises, but I'm able to read overall all the sentences introduced. The good side is that I can recognize different tenses, even though I can't write them myself.
I'm almost half my way through Lehrbuch der Georgischen Sprache. I can say it's helping me a lot to understand dialogues. I'm getting familiarized with adverbs and prepositions as well as with verbal forms that I still have to study in depth, namely the pluripersonal ones. I still need to review Kiziria's so I can learn at least the imperfect and the future consistently and get used to other tenses passively. I'm more and more used to figuring out the rules of each new word within the sentence, based on endings and word order. I'm afraid I'll have to go through yet another book for beginners before moving on to Continuing Course or Newspaper Reader, and that is quite likely to be Hewitt's. I'm on lesson 72 out of 100 for book2. The latest lessons have been very useful with constructions involving modal verbs. Starting next week, I plan to do two or more lessons a day, that is, I'll resume studying book2 once I've finished Lehrbuch. That is to finish it faster. I'm likely to replace it with Tschenkeli's grammar, both because I need the grammar explanations and because it also has audio for all sentences in the exercises. I just need to find a workeable way to deal with both the grammar explanations and the exercises, since lessons are rather long, and the exercises actually represent another volume. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||||||||

მანქანის ტარების უფლება უკვე გაქვს? Are you already allowed to drive? I bet the Georgian sentence actually means "Do you already have your car driving's license?" მას პარკში ძილის უფლება არ აქვს. He is not allowed to sleep in the park. Here's the same construction, so I guess it's more usual in Georgian to employ the word უფლება (right) in those cases. შეიძლება მენიუ მოგვიტანოთ?
