I'm also a language book hoarder. If the moderators don't object, I'd like to suggest people open accounts(?) on Bookmooch, a book-trading site, as a place to post books for trade. There aren’t enough people who are interested in language books there.

I also hoard a lot of language studying material and then it just sits on my shelf. Hopefully I will force myself to use it soon :)

The title of the thread is asking for help because of book hoarding. I ,too, am a hoarder. If I see a book that is on sale, or discounted in price, that is related to my target languages-or possible future target languages- I buy it for fear that it may not be there in the future. As far as I am concerned I don't need or want help to stop; the only help I need is how to find space for the books.

I also like to collect a lot of books. I'm a little ashamed that I read only a just part from the pile of books which

I'm a definite language book hoarder, I have a ridiculous amount of french, japanese and
italian books. Before borders shut down here I would get a whole bunch of language books
and spend hours in the cafe going over them. And I'm not ashamed to admit it!

It's not really the same thing but the Kindle is getting more and more language books,
and you can even rent a book for a fraction of the price instead of buying it. However,
if I'm considering a digital edition I tend to check the 'russian sites' too :-)

You call that arranging? :) I order my books according to height and depth, that way the shelves are easier to dust and the books are better preserved.

I am somewhat of a hoarder, but I don't feel guilty about it since there are a lot worse habits out there. Though I sometimes hide books in my office away from prying eyes. (Hmmm, isn't hiding your habit a sign of an addiction problem???)
