Is it still possible to get Anki 1? Maybe I should try the old
version.

In any event, I have had some good study sessions with Anki 2 now that I figured that
one problem. However, there's a new wrinkle. I got through one deck and it said,
“Congratulations! You have finished this deck for now.” But I want to study it some
more. I tried clicking on the Options button and then changing the “new cards per day”
setting from 20 to 100, but I still get the program telling me I've studied the deck
enough even though I think I should study it some more. Is there some way to override?

Yes, easy as pie,
use the filter/cram button, a window pops up, then under preset choose
your option, all new cards, or all forgotten cards, or cram all cards or whatever,
then under cards selected by, choose random, or order added or whatever, and
after you press build, it builds you a new deck.

Cram that deck into your brain until you're about to break aforesaid brain, then delete
it, go back to the regular schedule, and/or make a new cram deck when the mood strikes
you using all cards, or only the cards you forgot or whatever.

Hope this returns the favour of your advice to me to not to give up on ANKI so easily.
I found the user manual kinda pithy, but the creator of ANKI put up a couple of ANKI 2
videos on youtube and I found those helped immensely. I'm a cheerful ANKI 2 user now
and am giving up permanently on Supermemo98.

Is there a way to put a top limit on the break? I.e. I don't want the breaks to be larger than 1,5mo.

It's right between the command to destroy the universe and the command to go back in time.

Why would you do that?

If you really, really want to:
- Open your deck in anki
- Press the "settings" button on the bottom of the window
- Choose the "reviews" tab
- Set the maximum interval (I recommend keeping it at 36500 days)
