@patrickwillen: I haven't had much luck finding a tutor, but it's definitely worth looking into. I probably will wait until October, just because I have a lot of stuff coming up in the first part of this year, including a couple of business trips to Germany and Switzerland, and I also really do hate exams as well.
I think your approach is the right one, just keep reading/watching/listening to what is interesting to you and your abilities will grow. BAnna, I just wanted to say congratulations on your C2 scores. It's a real shame about the writing paper, but I think you are being far too modest about your own ability. It sounds like the issue was much more about exam technique than about your language ability, and I'm sure that if you do decide to retake the test, you will get the grade you deserve!
It's just so inspirational to read success stories like yours, and to see that C2 can be within reach without the need to spend long periods of time living abroad, just as long as you do the work. Well done, and all the best for 2015! 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Thanks so much g-bod. It's true I don't have a good sense of my own skills. Maybe I should get a tutor...? ;) Hope 2015 is a good one for you!
