Sehr gut gemacht. Das Wort "sprungbereit" gefällt mir. Ich wünsche, die Qualität des Videos ein bisschen besser
wäre. Es war nicht leicht, die Wörter zu verstehen (für mich zu mindestens). Aber was du erzählt hast über das Lied ist wirklich toll. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

Sprungbereit! Ja, genau! Die Art, wie die Hosen tragende Sängerin “sprungbereit” ausspricht, erinnert mich daran, weshalb ich die Sprache so sehr mag.
Es tut mir leid wegen des schlechten Tons, aber eine andere Aufnahme dieses Liedes konnte ich nicht finden. Das Video, das ich mit meinem iPhone gemacht habe, war viel besser. Es brach mir das Herz, als es gestohlen wurde. Nun bin ich allerdings zufrieden, denn ich habe endlich die Lösung des Geheimnisses des Texts bekommen, worauf ich seit Langem gewartet habe. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

Well, "zieh bei uns ein" can also mean "enter our place" or even "march in".

Ich glaube, ich muss meinen deutschen TAC anders gestalten. In letzter Zeit stellte sich heraus, dass ich keinen Bock habe, das Buch “Deutsche Geschichte des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts” zu lesen. Momentan habe ich auch keine Lust, mich mit meiner Übungsgrammatik oder meinem Verwendungswörterbuch auseinanderzusetzen. Alles, was ich diese Woche bezüglich der deutschen Sprache gemacht habe, war ausgesprochen oberflächlich und unakademisch.
Aus YouTube habe ich eine Menge deutsche Videos heruntergeladen, nur weil ich sie unterhaltsam gefunden habe. In der letzten Woche habe ich mehrere deutsche Dokus angesehen, über Themen wie Rockers in Deutschland, Außerirdische, deutsche und Schweizer Türsteher, Deutsche in der Schweiz, 9/11 Verschwörungstheorien und Arnold Schwarzenegger. Es kommt noch schlimmer, denn ich habe einige deutsche DVD-Synchronfassungen von amerikanischen Filmen ausgegraben und wieder angeschaut, kulturelle Meisterwerke von hohem Niveau wie “Raising Arizona”, “Moonstruck” und “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”. Mein TAC gerät außer Kontrolle und ich sehe tatenlos zu. Nun habe ich angefangen, in einer Sprache zu schreiben, die ich kaum kenne, und dabei habe ich schon Missverständnisse und Beleidigungen verursacht. Etwas stimmt nicht mit mir. My TAC also started out as a completely bungled cockup this year, so now it's just my "Experiment" :). At one point, I wondered if the thing being "totally annihilated" was my sanity...so maybe I'm not the best person to weigh in on this, but ...
Truly, there's no need at all to beat yourself up, it could just be time for a course correction or possibly time to embrace what you're doing because it's what you want to do and there's nothing wrong with that. It's great to enjoy whatever material you enjoy and no need to apologize or feel guilty. In my beginning class a couple of years ago, we went around the room and said why we wanted to learn German, and quite a few of the people (not just one!) said their goal was to read Nietzsche or Kant (!!!)...sometimes we hold ourselves up to impossibly high standards, or think we are only legitimate if we want read the classics, when maybe our true taste runs to Westerns or SciFi or melodramas or whatever. I have skated along lazily in Spanish for years without working on my skills, and honestly, at times I'm horrified at how bad my knowledge of grammar is. Having said that, I have no trouble at all communicating with the people I care about in Spanish, which is what matters. Will anyone lying on his deathbed regret not spending more time poring over grammar textbooks? No way! I'm not saying be a slacker, but learning or mastering a language shouldn't be the end in itself, but a means to enrich your life (whatever that means to you). Your language skills are awesome, and as a fellow struggler with some of the same perfectionistic tendencies, I suggest trying to let them go and stop torturing yourself. It's a fruitless path to pursue. Whatever misunderstandings, etc. you mentioned, are probably not as bad as you imagine. We all have moments where our good intentions go awry or our not so good intentions we normally keep under wraps surface in embarassing ways. It's also just part of being human and fallible.
