I haven't posted for a long time, due to several spells of diziness this month.
I managed to read quite a lot though, I finished "i pesci non chiudono gli occhi" which I like but was just a little above my current level, so I could only read it bits by bits and I felt strained after reading it. I needed something completely different and much easier, so I then turned to "Acqua in Bocca" by Camilleri / Lucarelli which was recommended somewhere on the forum. It's an epistolary detective novel and it was fun to read, quite relaxing after Erri de Luca's poetic prose. I also watched Italian television quite a lot, I can now get the gist of the news bulletin without too much strain. This morning, I woke up repeating to myself the forms of the congiuntivo presente and some of the sentences I had written for practise a few weeks ago "se potessi, imparerei tutte le lingue", " se avessi provato, avrei risucito". I'm currently on holidays for a few days so I'll have time to find the song for the February challenge. Well, I'll have to find another song, because Kanewai beat me up to the post and chose the one I had in mind ;)!Nice choice too... 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Ecco finalmente la canzone che ho scelta per il challenge della squadra Forza. Se avessi potuto, avrei scelto la stessa di kanewai, cioè "Con te partiro" di Andrea Boccelli perché è la mia canzone preferita, ma quella ha anche una significazione particolare per me perché è la canzone che mi ha dato voglia di imparare Italiano...

Well done! I hope you won't mind a couple of corrections: • la canzone che ho scelta > <ho scelto>, even if you are a girl the ending is always -o • per il challenge > you can translate "challenge" as sfida • ma quella > if you are referring to Laura's song then you have to use <questa> • ha anche una significazione particolare > significato • la canzone che mi ha dato voglia di imparare Italiano > better <mi ha fatto venire la voglia> or <mi ha dato la voglia>. Thanks a lot for your corrections! One question though : I thought the past participle could be in the feminine

It can be in the female form with the verb <essere>, such as in <Sono andata a fare shopping ieri> (Yesterday I went shopping) or <Sono rimasta emozionata dal suo discorso> (I was touched by his speech), but not with the verb <avere> :) 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

How time flies!
Here is my attempt at the March challenge. I chose to work on the subjunctive forms and the IF-clauses. 1. se l'avessi saputo prima, non sarei venuta. 2. se potessi, impararei tutte le lingue nel mondo, ma sfortunamento non è possibile! 3. se avessi molti soldi, comprarei un castellino nel sud della Francia. 4. se ne avessi voglia, partirei adesso (ma non ne ho voglia) 5. se tu lo volessi, potremmo andarci in macchina e non a piedi. 6. se tu andassi al letto alle dieci, non sarei cosi stanco. 7. se facessi più attenzione, capiresti molte cose. 8. Lo faremmo volentieri, a patto che ne avessimo il tempo. 9. La chiamareste se voi aveste il suo numero. 10. La situazione economica sarei migliore se il presidente cambiasse la sua politica. 11. Pagerebbe se avessi ricevuto la carta delle tasse. 12. se non avessi aperto la finestra, la stanza avrebbe puzzato di muffa. 13. Se non farai attenzione, non avrai mai soldi alla fine del mese. 14. se non provassimo, non riusciremmo. 15. se non pensassero alla loro zia, non gli avrebbero scritto una lettera. 16. se volessero ottenere un' aumentazione, dovrebbero lavorare di più. 17. se non avro mai idee, dovro fermare quest' esercizio. 18. se io non volessi più fare dell' errore, domandarei a suzukaze di correggere le mie frase! 19.
