About the Russian - I am not going to correct everything, because God knows I am not free
of grammar mistakes, but в России (with capital) means "in Russia". If you mean to say
"it's hard to write in Russian", I'd go with трудно писать на русском. You can also say
сложно instead of трудно.

Thank you both, your insight is much appreciated.

Double 'e's' is definitely one of my weaknesses. I'm always having to correct myself with those. >.<

Only write a double vowel if the following consonant then closes off the word. "maar",
"heel", "groot". The rule for doubling is that you only double at the end of a word or
morpheme, and that you write it single in the middle - the pronunciation is already
indicated by the doubling of the consonant!

Poten and potten (paws and pots) - the second o is short because of the double t, the
first is long because of single t, poot has double t because t finishes the word and
thus you need to write it long to indicate the long vowel (as opposed to pot).

Actually, it used to be written the way you do it - but we abolished that in a spelling
reform long ago. But in the 1800s or so, people would agree with you :D
