Comment This page follows the preceding one (see other image) and shows the typical structure of a lesson. After a text (not shown) and drills, a large section of each lesson is devoted to jokes. This is there to let you be immersed in real-life text and develop your skills to manage with new, unknown phrases you need to understand. The exercise is its own reward, since if you understand the text, you can enjoy the joke.
The joke on the bottom of the page goes as follows:
A woman calles her female friend.
-You know, I have made the first step towards divorce.
-How so?
-I got married.
For those who do not enjoy such jokes, you should remember that Russian humor is quite original and many jokes do not make foreigners laugh readily. It is an acquired taste. On that standards, the jokes in this book are quite good.
