So no more new languages! The languages I am working on right now I will try to stick
with for the rest of the year at least. I have worked on about 20 different languages
this month, trying to figure out which ones I wanted to spend some time working on and my
list of active languages right now seems interesting and more importantly doable. 12
languages, 5 different languages families. It should be interesting enough not to be
tempted by any new ones.

I am a bit humbled since that post, as the pronunciation is harder than
I thought. The vocab and grammar are extremely easy however, and I can already read so
much. |

Yes, the pronunciation tends to be a challenge, but it must be nice to understand so much with just a little effort?

Yes it is! One of the reasons I am interested learning Norwegian is that one of my
favorite play write wrote in Norwegian, Henrik Ibsen and I also am also a fan of Knut
Hamsun, and would like to read his stuff untranslated. Hopefully it won't be too long
before I can start getting into stuff like that.

Thanks for the comment. I actually own remembering the Kanji, and I
have already
completed the first book. I will check out also that dictionary of Japanese grammar
though the two books I own are both pretty good (Fundementals of Japanese Grammar and
Oxford Dictionary of Japanese Grammar and Verbs). I also have Genki 1 and 2, and am
planning on using it(though I haven't yet). I also am practicing with my aunt who is a
native speaker. But despite all that, there may still be questions I have for you so
thank you for the offer (also maybe Arabic if you don't mind)!
I find your progress in the 6WC quite inspirational by the way. Amazing amount of work
done. |

Well, see? You're doing great, already, and actually, you're probably better than I am!
And you do have access to a native speaker too.
No problem, ask anything in Arabic, or Japanese, and we can always roll ideas off of
each other. Keep it up, and do your best in the 6WC.

So far about 3 hours of studying today. I did an hour of written Arabic, actually going
quite well. Without having to worry about pronunciation, language learning is pretty
easy. Irish however was a different story. I spent a lot of time to day going over some pronunciation drills, really try to get those broad and slender consonants right.
Hopefully it will pay off soon, as I am getting restless unable to actually say much
stuff in Irish.

Just did my first extensive period of shadowing. Walked and listened to a German audio
book for 2 hours. My legs feel exhausted but I don't feel particularly good at German...
