The Assimil book doesn't say anything about how often (or even whether) one should review old lessons, so I've just been following my instincts and doing one lesson a day (listening a few times each day), then not touching that lesson again until the weekly review session. My reasoning behind this is just that I don't want my brain to be able to "cheat" by holding lesson content in short term memory.

I'm thinking of starting the active (L1 -> L2 translation) phase early. But, similar to above, I don't want to have the old lessons too fresh in my memory, since that seems like it could make the inverse translation process misleadingly easy. I guess simply following the instructions in the book (waiting fifty days between passive and active versions of a lesson) would ensure that this didn't happen. :-)
