In case anybody who reads this wondered, I've continued doing one Assimil lesson per day, lesson 19 today. I quit logging them every day, though, because I figured that could make this journal a bit monotonous. Anyway...
Comment dit-on "avoir soif de progrès" en Anglais?
"To thirst for progress?"
I just picked up "soif" today from Assimil (odd, because "faim" was probably one of the first couple hundred words I learned, many months ago!) and realized I had heard it before in the phrase above on the radio. In addition to practicing my comprehension, listening to France Inter has let me find a lot of songs that I enjoy.
Et ma fiancée, elle aime ces chansons aussi. :-)

So far I've gone three weeks in a row of doing one Assimil lesson every day (number 22 today). :-)
I found today's to be markedly more difficult than other recent lessons. I'll definitely have to listen to it more times than usual.

Surprisingly, today's lesson was really easy. No words or grammar that were new to me at all.

Been missing out on Assimil the past few days due to school busy-ness. Still sneaking in some French by way of recordings in my car, though. :-)

Waouh, ça fait longtemps depuis j'ai écris !
I'm on lesson 58 of Assimil now, and the other day I started writing a bit at Lang-8. School is winding down for the semester, so I have some more time to devote to French.

Lesson 64 today. The lessons are getting noticeably faster and I'm picking up some useful grammar. In today's lesson, for example:
"Je vous ai téléphoné il y a deux jours."
I don't think any of the other lessons had used the passé composé + "il y a [duration]." Seems like a very useful construction, though! This lesson also listed some of the many types of "carte":
une carte routière : road map
une carte postale : post card
une carte de crédit : credit card
une carte de visite : business card
And the lesson went over the savoir / connaître distinction, which seems like it will be hard to master. Sort of seems like it tracks the saber / conocer distinction in Spanish, which I remember from high school, but I'm not going to lean on that too much.

Lesson 66 today (wow, finals really got in the way of Assimil!). I watched a bunch of French movies this past weekend, several that I had already seen, and seem to be noticing more and more things I learn from Assimil showing up in dialogues.
Also joined the "Second Romance Team" for the TAC 2013. I've never tried the Total Annihilation Challenge before. I think that reading others' logs and getting some comments from them will give me a little extra motivation. :-)

Also, I watched and really enjoyed the series Engrenages recently (subtitled, on Netflix). I've always liked using Netflix to find French movies; I think French may actually have the greatest number of titles on there among non-English languages.
