Why not just be realistic? This kinda reminds me on how in sports a team can only be declared the champion if the standings don't change even if they lose all the remaining matches. This makes sense for sport, but why have so many rules based on a faint hope that everyone writes more than two pages in their logs? Many never write even ONE. That's not hard to keep up with.
I have to admit I'm already looking forward to seeing the teams the way they really are in March :)

Limiting to 15 members? ugh:S Sorry but has anyone speaking of having to read too
many logs (on ONE team) actually had problems with that? in TAC 2012 my team had exactly 15 members
and three didn't even START logs! 15 is unnecessarily little even for the beginning. |

I think it is an extremely sensible limit. If 5 more people join the second team, you can just add them to the
first team. I think 20 is what has been set as a maximum for a team. 15 is the limit for when you start a
second team. If 12 or 15 more join, you do not have to go through the messy operation of taking people off a
team they have already been accepted to. ...
As we all know, lots of people never make it past March, and then teams can be merged, but I thought Brun
Ugles model was brilliant, in fact I am sorry I did not come up with it myself :-) |

I'm with Serpent. So many people drop out, especially so many newbies, that limiting a team to 15 seems really low to me. I don't think combining teams later in the year is the solution to that. (There's nothing wrong with combining teams if needed, of course.) Some teams, like the Russian team, that have a good track record might want to limit, but I'm not sure that's the best approach for all the teams.

I have started my 2013 log here for the Romance 2, Croatian, and Slavic-Romance teams. (I will probably change the title once my teams decide on names!)

For what it's worth, I think the limit is sensible. If half the people drop out, I think 7 is a good number of participants for one team. Not too much, not too little.
I'd like to sign up with Korean and Finnish. Please put me on the respective teams. I'll be keeping my current log. Thank you.

Hey,
there are really lots of messages in this thread so I'll just ask you if there is any other Scandinavian team since I'd like to join :)

Brun Ugle.
I would like to join the challenge. I'm learning French in 2013 and dabbling with
Italian. I can join the romantics team 2 if that's possible.

for now there isn't, but if there are more people interested, it can be formed, and if there aren't you can join us later:)
I think it would be more realistic to call it a waiting list rather than a second team. If that doesn't sound offensive of course.
