Ardaschir did not say why he left but his most recent messages indicated he had very busy schedules between his courses, his family, his book, learning Arabic and maintaining God knows how many languages.

I just got a reply from Ardaschir - he is alive and well and promised to try and come back to the forum as soon as he can. Here was his reply:

Dear "Administrator":

Thank you for your letter. I have certainly not made
any conscious and deliberate decision to leave the
Forum. However, I am indeed quite busy with my
professional, parenting, and polyglot duties, and I
simply have not found the time to visit for a while.
I will try to make some soon.

Yours,

"Ardaschir"

Thanks for following this up administrator. This really is good news. I'm sure we will all be glad to read some more of Ardaschir's massive posts. I have no doubt the moment he appears on the site he will be flooded with 4 months of back questions. :-)

Perhaps I missed something, but he hasn't come back since all this, right?
We want Ardaschir! Hope all is well with him.

Sorry to bring back this dusty, old thread. I'm just curious as to what's the
latest news, if there is any.

Unfortunately, the city Ardaschir lives in is being bombed by the Israeli
military right now. :( Beirut is without power, its stations having been
destroyed. Hopefully, Ardaschir is staying somewhere safe.

Yah, if this thing escalates American nationals will likely be evacuated to Cypress. The ultimate goal of the invaders is of course to make explicit Hezbollah¡¯s link with Syria and Iran, and to get US to do the heavy lifting in Persia. American casualties would add to the motivation and may succeed where lobbying falls short. So much for capitalizing on his Arabic breakthrough. The whole region may be off limits for a while.

To say the professor won¡¯t be thinking about internet chats for a while is an understatement. Advancing the timetable and moving to India may be appropriate at this point. Hope he stays safe.

Probably not the best time to ask but has anyone (administrator perhaps) had any update about when his polyglot book will come out?

I too want to say that I find it a shame he's not here anymore and hope he is safe, but I hope actually more that his book is progressing. Even more than that I wish him here back, I hope his book will soon be in print, because it would be one of the best resources ever on polyglottery.

Likewise, I hope Ardaschir and his family are going to be OK over there.
