Mae and Sprachprofi, thanks for your input!
You've confirmed my intuition, and now we can all confidently use the descriptions in
your posts as a reference to make sure we're following the same standard.

Are you finding that your study habits have changed? Have you learned anything from the experience so far?

After about a week, I've come to three conclusions:

1) I don't really study that much after all and yet, (I think) I still manage to learn rather swiftly,

2) I don't think the challenge is making me study any more that I normally would, since I already study as often as is healthily possible, out of pleasure,

3) I think most of my learning time is spent in ways that cannot be logged, such as self-talk or ruminating.

(Read more here from my log)

Late to the party too, but I hope to make up for it with some word-inebriated Cossack dancing later. ;) I've registered myself for Russian on Twitter to start tomorrow, and wish everyone over the remaining 5 weeks ни пуха ни пера (good luck, lit. neither fluff nor feathers)!

My tweets don't seem to be going to the Bot. I don't use twitter much, so tell if what
I'm tweeting is wrong. If I want to say that I've studied French for two hours I would
say: 6WCBot I've studied @french for 120 minutes. Thanks for helping guys!

Someone else will probably respond as well, but I think it would be @6wcbot I've studied #French for 120 minutes.

I just tried that and it worked. Thanks for the help, I kind of freaked out when it said
I had only studied for one hour this week.

I finally started! Did 1/2 hour of Assimil and 1/2 hour of grammar study. Am going to spend the next week or so trying to figure out what works for me for studying Spanish.

Spanish is the first language I've studied that didn't require me to learn the characters/letters first, so this is a brand new experience for me. (Previous languages: Japanese and Ancient Greek.)

I'm really enjoying that I can pick something up and read it immediately. I may not be able to understand it, but at least I can read it. That's a big difference from Day 1 of my other languages.

I really need to remember to check in to HTLAL more frequently! I'm in India and even though I'm surrounded by Hindi, I live on an English-speaking campus, making studying difficult at the best of times. I'll be registering later today, albeit a week behind, to get myself kicked back in gear to grind my Hindi hours!
