("det" is neuter, and that makes the ending neuter as well, cf. "den är tråkig" - no -t)
(definite form for "till skolan";unnatural expression;neuter ending)

I'll be doing Swedish :). Anyone joining me? It's really worth it!
When I get somewhere close to B1, I might do Norwegian at some point (just so you know, because of you all it's pretty clear I'm going to start learning Norwegian sooner that I thought. Too much temptation, I dare say).
And a general message: I'm having a strong case of my life interfering with my language and Internet activities at the moment, I should get more active sometime in the beginning of February. Sorry for my absence in the team!

Ha ha, I love the Yoda rule!!! It makes perfect sense when you think about it.
Cristina, thanks, as always, for the helpful corrections on my log.
I'll try and get to the next challenges this weekend if I have time.
Oh yeah! My find of the week has been klar tale http://www.klartale.no/ . It
has very "simple" news in Norwegian. There is also a biweekly podcast and a setting where you can have the site
"read" the news for you. I have a feeling I will be wasting a lot of time with klar tale!

I was thinking about doing it so I might join you! It seems interesting enough and
everything that motivates me to learn more is always worth trying.
Mini Viking-Challenge #5 Which languages do you speak? How well do you speak them?
Where did you learn them?
dag.
I'm still on track doing atleast 1 challenge every 2 weeks ^^

I've just subscribed to other vikings' logs. I can't believe I hadn't done this yet!
I think it's a good idea to add the link to the wordpress blog and the challenges at the
first post.

Challenges - Norwegian (please correct):
1. Write five sentences introducing yourself
Hallo!
2. Write three sentences about who you have in your family
3. Describe a friend in six sentences. What does she/he look like? What is she/he like
as a person?
4. Give a five-sentence long description of the town or city you live in.
Innbyggere dens savner havet helt
år.
5. Which languages do you speak? How well do you speak them? Where did you learn
them?
selv.

Corrections and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Just like in German, the rule of V2 works also when the main sentence is preceded by a subordinate clause, as I tried to show in the last examples.
--
Speaking of this V2 rule, can any native or advanced speaker of Swedish try to explain to me why in this sentence the rule wasn’t followed and we have S+V even though the sentence starts with a time adverb?
I found this sentence in the textbook I’m currently using:
Quote:
I morgon bitti kanske de är föräldrar.
ur Ballardini, Stjärnlöf, Viberg, Nya Mål 1, sida 207

The context: a couple is expecting a baby. The previous night they had an argument and they haven’t spoken since. Now she’s in labour and calls him on the phone, so that he can take her to the hospital and be with her when their baby is born.
Tack för hjälpen!
