In his profile he says: Polish Native Fluency. A far cry. An example of how polyglots overestimate their ability.
His Russian seems to be much better than Polish, though. |

His speech is the same.

I am not trying to destroy anybody! I do admire Huliganov, he is an excellent teacher of Russian. And he DOES know Polish quite well. Only his speaking and writing are not as good as he thinks they are. They are not native like at all. They are just intermediate, just like my English, for instance.
Many a polyglot overestimates his/her own skills. That's always puzzled me.
I don't know many languages, but I know what I know and what I don't. |

Neither his Polish nor your English are at an intermediate level. Come on, now.

He's just not that good... If he speaks 20 languages at that level then it's great, but
there's a lot of room for improvement in his Polish. I have friends who have learned
Polish to study here, so I don't think it's an impossible feat anymore.

In the video, it was the moderators trying to push him to say he spoke 20 languages. He
was being more modest than they wanted, saying he could read magazines and watch TV,
but wasn't exactly fluent in all these languages
So, I think the "speaks 20 languages" was more a case of the TV channel creating an
exciting headline. They were trying to make him out to be some kind of talented super-
genius. He seemed more interested in talking about the effectiveness of his learning
method (goldlists), and said that you don't need to have special talent to learn
languages - we can all do it..
