This may seem like a strange topic since the reasons for learning are so diverse.
However, please let us know which language enjoy using the most and why. I speak Spanish and enjoy communicating with people and traveling abroad. English only works in highly visited spots in countries. Since I do not know any other languages (besides English) I cannot speak to any other languages. Besides travel, work, family, and culture seem to be the big reasons to learn another language. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

Englih is my first language but I enjoy speaking Irish.

I enjoy speaking my native German. I like the way it sounds, although it's often considered as harsh. For me it sounds clearer than English which is somehow squishy. Just compare "with" and German "mit". "mit" sounds much harder. My favor for "hard" sounds is also the reason why I like Slavic languages more than Romance languages. Especially French does sound squishy to me as well.
And Chinese isn't most enjoyable because of its homophones. It really sounds like "ching chang chong" and if you didn't understand a part of the word it's impossible to guess it right like you could in English or German. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

I find the ability to access more hermetic cultures and the appreciation of native speakers to be a great motivator, and so thus far, Japanese has been the most rewarding language for me.

I used to love to speak Italian. Now I am so rusty that I am not quite sure, but Italian was the language which I learned and practised with most joy.

I like English fine. I also like the ability to speak Spanish, but my favorite language that I speak so far is German. I also enjoy the sounds. I prefer Germanic sounds to Romance ones. I also really enjoy Norwegian. It's Germanic and manages to sound both old and lively.

I've found Afrikaans very enjoyable to learn and to write, so much so that I wish it was more widely spoken internationally. I like listening to Spanish but don't study it consistently, so maybe I don't find it enjoyable yet though I do like the language. Swedish is really fun to write since it has some obvious similarities with Afrikaans and English. Trying to pronounce all three is fun but humbling. Finnish is a challenge for me to write, but I believe it will be worthwhile to continue with Finnish and my 2-year-old nephew loves it when I occasionally sing Finnish songs to him.
