Granted I don't know very many African songs but Miriam Makeba's 'Pata Pata' always
makes me happy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-VrfadKbco 'Malaika' is another great African song. This version is sung by Miriam Makeba as well, even though Swahili is not her native language. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpl8rPQBASU There are also several Swahili gospel songs which I really like, including 'Cha Kutumaini Sina', 'Neno Litasimama' and 'Nimeonja Pendo Lako'.
