	Wow! Thank you so much! What a nice thing to say! This learning log is probably my greatest tool and motivation when it comes to my Russian learning. So I would greatly recommend it. 	I have been in quite a funk lately. I've been sick and have found out that my goals are too difficult to complete with the time I have at the moment. Here is my new schedule: Mon: Reading Tues: Listening Wed: Writing Thurs: Reading Fri: Same goals as before with emphasis on speaking Sat: Same as Fri Sun: Sam as Fri Also everyday I am going to spend time on learning vocabulary, I am going to clear my "words learned" category because I have not spent time on revision, and I am going to clear my "hours speaking" because I wasn't always speaking Russian during the time I recorded. For now on I will only record the amount of time I spoke if that amount of time was spent on speaking Russian, not a combination of Russian and English. I am really upset with myself for not studying lately, but I just need to stay positive and get back on track. =]] 2 persons have voted this message useful

	Sorry that I have not been writing in this. Our computer broke several months ago, and because of not having a way to write here I fell out of my language learning routine and was studying off and on. I have had use to my sister's laptop (what I am using right now) for a while, but I was already out of my language logging routine. This was just another wall in the way of my goal and like (I think) Benny said, walls are there to stop those who are not strong enough to get past the walls... or something along those lines. With the new year I am ready to get past this wall and start up my language learning again. I'm glad to be back and excited to hear how others are doing! 	It is important to have both long and short term goals in order to succeed in what you are doing... here are mine: Goal: Be Advanced in Russian by the End of this Year Complete 500 hours of listening Complete 200 hours of reading Complete 100 hours of writing Complete 200 hours of speaking Learn 7,000 new words in Russian Be able to change my Facebook language to Russian and have no difficulties Learn about Russian culture like taboo topics, ways to address people, food, government, etc. Be able to write and talk about topics I typically can talk about in English with no problems and without having to use a dictionary Be able to listen to music, news broadcasts, tv shows, dialogue, etc. and be able to understand most of what is being said without the use of a dictionary Be able to read about topics I usually read about in English without the use of a dictionary Be able to talk to a native Russian without stumbling on my words, using a dictionary, and/or asking the native how to say something, slow down, and/or repeat them self Subgoal 1: End of January Learn most of Russian prefixes and suffixes Learn 56 Russian roots Learn all vocabulary to do with a house, apartment, etc. Complete 30 hours of listening Complete 10 hours of reading Complete 1 hour of writing Complete 2 hours of speaking Mini-Subgoal 1.1: End of Week #2 Learn 28 Russian roots Learn all vocabulary to do with the kitchen and the living room Complete 7 hours of listening Read 3 hours of Russian Learn prefixes and suffixes Mini-Subgoal 1.2: End of Week #3 Learn all vocabulary to do with the bedroom, bathroom, attic, basement, and garage Complete 16 hours of listening Complete 3.5 hours of reading Complete .5 hours of writing Complete 1 hour of speaking Learn 14 Russian roots Learn Russian prefixes and suffixes Mini-Subgoal 1.3: End of Week #4 Learn all vocab for the front yard, back yard, den, balcony, hallway, and anything else to do with the house Complete 10 hours of listening Complete 3.5 hours of reading Complete .5 hours of writing Complete 1 hour of speaking Learn 14 Russian roots Learn prefixes and suffixes 1 person has voted this message useful
