50 hours so far this month! Just completed my 50th hour, with an hour of
Finnish. You can see my total breakdown here.

In more positive news, I have found some good resources for Irish and I have
resumed studying! What fun. I just wish I had someone way in which I could practice
speaking without actually having to go to Ireland.
Here is a 50th hour breakdown for each language
GERMAN
So much fun at this point. I am working my way through "Heimsuchung" by Jenny
Erpenbeck, a really good book so far.
FRENCH
I am pretty much down with the grammar, pronunciation, ect. but I haven't really had
any practice speaking or writing. Planning on finding some people to practice with.
Russian
Wow so hard! I find the pronunciation difficult and the grammar. I am working on making
some more excersises for myself, but until then, studying is cumbersome and not as
productive as I would like. I am trying Michel Thomas Russian, but I am not a giant fan
so far.
Finnish
Easily my favorite language I have worked on so far. I find the words fun to say and
the grammar fun to play around with. I also love the Finnish folk music. Currently
reading "Harry Potter ja Viisasten Kivi. Is going slowly, but I have already giant
vocab lists to put in Anki soon.
Spanish
Spanish will always be a bit slow for me as I use it to communicate at school but not
really for anything else. I plan on working on building my vocab to be able to read,
but I don't have so much interest.
Irish
Well slow studying for most of this month because of lack of resources. Should start
picking up however.
Japanese
I don't really know what to say. Japanese I find very difficult, nothing really
particular but just because everything is different I don't really feel like I know
whats going on in my studies. I have a couple of grammar books that I am reading
through and then I am just going to try to cram down a bunch of vocab and see what
happens, whether I can read and such.

Japanese... I am still not exactly sure how to approach it. I hate learning programs, and
usually just like learning from grammar books, but its not working so well with Japanese.
At least Irish is really starting to look up! Give me 3 weeks and I will be saying
everything in Irish.

Good to hear you've landed some more resources for Irish, and let's both raise a glass to having surpassed those initial 50 hours of study this year. Sláinte!

Norwegian is such an easy language so far! And such a beautiful country. I really want to
visit sometime soon.
