Maintenant, Radio-canada 97.7 CBUF-FM (la première chaîne Columbie-Britannique) est
ma meilleure amie
- lots of listening lately.   I don`t really know what they are
saying, but they seem to be having loads more fun than the folks on the English language stations out here.

wordreference - recevoir

je reçois
tu reçois
il, elle, on reçoit
nous recevons
Vous recevez
elles, ils reçoivent

le participle passé – reçu

nous avons bien reçu votre lettre - we acknowledge receipt of your letter;
il a reçu le ballon dans le visage   - he was hit in the face by the ball;
j'ai reçu le marteau sur le pied -   the hammer landed on my foot; (i.e I
received the hammer on my foot)
être bien/mal reçu   - to be well/badly received;
demain je vous reçois à dîner - (not a Hannibal the cannibal thing, probably)

Imparfait

FAC - intro to imparfait

For use with: ongoing states of being, repeated or incomplete actions (ie. what in
English would be "was" or "was ___ing"

1. habitual actions or states of being
2. physical or emotional descriptions in the past
3. actions or states of unspecified or uncertain duration
4. background information for use in conjunction with the passé composé
5. wishes or suggestions (si nous sortions ce soir?)
6. conditions in si clauses
7. the expressions être en train de ... and venir de ... in the past

Number 6 above looks very similar to what had previously been represented as an
instance of the present tense - "si je peux, j'irais avec vous" v. "si j'avais de
l'argent, j'irais avec vous"
