I am interested in hearing people's opinons on the Living Language Ultimate
series. They seem to come in beginner and advanced levels and cover most
major languages. From what I have seen, they lack a lot of drills. Has
anyone had any success or failures with the Ultimate series?

I'm curious to know other opinions too as I've been looking at their Russian course. In fact I know a now fluent Russian speaking American that started with this course and only got part of the way through the beginner level. I don't know a whole lot about how the course is though.

There is a thread on the Living Language Ultimate series that I found by doing a topic search for the word "ultimate".

I found that thread too (only yesterday), although I was looking for another thread based on what Malcom says in Mandarin - recommended courses:
"One of the courses I'd recommend for this is Living Language Ultimate Mandarin, which I discussed in another thread(...)"
However I never found that one... Perhaps it has disappeared.

I found/find it to be pretty good. The written exercises are very basic, but theres a good audio section, especially the CD's designed for "on the move" very effective, at least in my experience.
