Tuesday, January 29th
Norwegian : I managed to repeat scrupulously one assimil lesson a day so I am now on lesson 20. This hasn't proved hard at all since I had already covered the 50 first lessons of Le Norvégien Sans Peine a few years back. The main obstacle is that it might become a bit dull. But I 'm glad I've found an easy reader in Norwegian on amazon kindle. It´s called " learn Norwegian with parallel text" and , let´s be clear, it is no literature, but enough for me at that point to make some progress without getting bored, and for the price of a magazine (4.13€!) I think it' s good value for money. I'd say the level is A2. I also managed to complete the January challenge. For further motivation, I treated myself to a Norwegian paperback edition of Politi by Jo Nesbø. Even though I have already read it in French, it is waaay out of my league , even with a good dictionary it takes 30 minutes per page! German : I listened to 4 or 5 Nachrichten podcasts on Deutsche Welle, found the website Deutsch Im Blick mentioned in the team thread very useful. I also started reading Die Wand by Marlen Haushofer, and the good surprise is that it is manageable so far (with the help of a dictionary but still). This book had been on my wish list for at least 3 years ! It´s about a woman who one day finds herself surrounded by an invisible wall. Super challenge I have finished Il Terrore Viene per Posta by Agatha Christie , so that makes 1521 pages or 30 books ( but 5 real books only :) 1 person has voted this message useful |
