Pois é, vivente, há alguns anos atrás pensava em estudar romeno (ainda penso para os próximos anos) porque escuto alguns grupos de música em romeno, principalmente de dance music (exceto O-Zone.....rs....só que se o fizer, o farei com professor particular, que me sairia mais barato....é o q pretendo fazer em relação ao Italiano e outros idiomas que pretendo estudar futuramente. Hi I started learning portguese a few weeks ago and have big problems with word order :( Can someone explain and hopefully point out where I can find more about the applied rules in the following sentence;
ela poderia viver assim durante muito tempo, a vida inteira talvez is translated into (at least in my dictionary) She’d be able to live like that for a long time, maybe even her entire life. my problem is now why is it ,a vida inteira talvez and not ,talvez a vida inteira ? Não se preocupe, ambas estão corretas, dado que a ordem das palavras em português é um tanto flexível. Você pode dizer tanto "talvez a vida inteira" quanto "a vida inteira talvez". Don't worry, both are correct, since word order in portuguese is quite flexible. So you can say both "talvez a vida inteira" and "a vida inteira talvez" :) Hope it can help you! Like Pylsa said, word order can be quite flexible in Portuguese. However, pay attention so you do not change your meaning. In example:

Por exemplo: "Eu jogo futebol só uma vez por mês" - "I play soccer only once a month" "Eu jogo só futebol uma vez por mês" - "I play only soccer once a month". As a Brazilian, word order in Portuguese comes naturally to me. We don’t really think about it.
