Hey Ron,

Just a hello to say i'm still lurking about following your log. Sounds like a good plan with the easy readers and
tutoring in particular. I too am more keen than ever to keep advancing my French. So you say you're
continuing your log on Polydog, just wondering why so? (not saying don't do it, just curious, i'm not familiar
with Polydog). Anyway you're doing really well with NFWE! keep going (pat on your back).

signed up for one month to see how I like it, and I do. I added it to my activity list
as a supplemental activity as I have time.

Hey Ron,

This program has sparked my curiosity... have you had much of a chance to try it out? I
might try it 6 months or so away in order to transition from audio programs like
Pimsleur to actual news radio as an intermediary between the two stages.

They are excellent and will be one of my primary focuses along with completing my second NFWE wave, and writing NFWE wave. The audio that comes with them is full speed, which makes Assimil seem slow, and that's a good thing for me right now.

One nice thing I noticed about News in Slow French is that the news is downloadable in PDF and MP3, in both slow and regular speed. Recently I've been spending 20 minutes to an hour every day just listening to various things on my phone and the news material seems like it will be a good addition to my listening rotations.

So many great methods and material, so little time.

Thanks for getting back to me Ron. Sounds you're doing really well :) Yes indeed so
many great methods, and so little time, so true! I can't complain about the time myself
really. I do get more done than most altho it would be nice to nice have to force
myself out of bed at 6am every morning just to get a decent amount of study done...

News in slow French is available as an app (which gives access to those who have a
subscription to the audio and scripts). It's also available as a podcast in which you can
download all previous episodes to date for free. Thus I am currently downloading all of
them to use as passive listening material during my more passive activities in which I
don't speak out load (ie walking the dog, going for a walk, doing the dishes, etc). I was
going to listen to audio books as Jeffers suggested during this time but I think i'll
gain more out of filling these gaps with these podcasts.

Yes indeed, about the methods! Not every learning technique will will work for everyone, but one of the
things I like about this forum is that people have so many different approaches, and there's such a wealth of
tips and advice, that it's not hard finding a combination of things which work for oneself. (And this personal
combination will continue change, of course.)

And thanks for the additional info. on the News in Slow French.
