So what did I get done this week?

Assimil: I finished lessson 29 last night and I'll do 30 tonight.

Duolingo: I only made it through the Travel skills, but what that was my weekly goal
and I made it :)

Essential German: I made it through Lesson 6 which was about more conjugations of
verbs in present tense.

Also I discovered playing Criminal Case(Facebook Game) in German. I forgot from which
person I heard about it. It is really addicting. Tons of vocab I don't know, so I
tend to use google translate to give me a good idea of what they are saying or what I
need to be looking for. Its fun to put the language to an actual use and I can tell
that I am looking up less words each time a play it. Since it is a hidden object game,
I wished they put "the" in front of the words so I would get gender more ingrained.

Also starting to listen to German radio on spotify and finding a couple singers a
like. Though I don't understand much at all.

And now I am sad, because in order to get to case two in Criminal Case, I need three
friends playing with me :(

Maybe its time I look at that one children's book I have downloaded.

Update!

Assimil: Just finished up lesson 37. These lessons are definitely getting longer.
Lesson 31 was interesting this week as I had me memorize two jokes.

Duolingo: Had fun learning colors in German. The other lessons where Formal You and
starting to go through the occupations.

Essential German: Finished lesson seven about the accusative case and started lesson
eight about the dative case.

As criminal case was fun to do, I started to look for more native materials to study
with as well. Started slowly trying to read Jim Knopf und Lukas, der Lokomotivfuehre
by Michael Ende (young children chapter book). The going is really slow as I look up
most words in the dictionary, so I am still on page 1. At least I am close to the
bottom :).

Also I took a look at FluentU as a way to possibly watch some videos in German. I
don't really like their learn section which quizzes you on the words to get you to
know the meaning and had an implementation of srs. But I do like watching the videos
on their as they have both English and German subtitles on. You can also highlight
over the German word and it shows the definition. But there isn't two many videos
available for free. (If anybody is reading this studying Japanese, all the videos are
available for free in Japanese as that language is in beta.)

Also, I keep on meaning to mention my current goal:

To get enough of a basic understanding that I would be able to play Skyrim in German.

A little late this week as yesterday was my husband's birthday and I spent the day
cooking or at
that party.

Probably should look at the memrise course as it would be helpful, but I am doing
enough
as is and feeling a little burned out so I am going back to just doing assimil and
duolingo.

Assimil: Up to lesson 44 now. Next lesson I am supposed to start the active wave as
well.

Duolingo: Learned about comparisons and qualifiers.
