7 hr 02 min today in total... currently on the second half of chapter 16 of the second pass of the book.
I tried reading some Brothers Grimm story for about 5-10 minutes in German... I got most of it minus a couple words... promising, although I'm still missing large enough chucks of HP1 that its at times quite annoying. LRing so far seems sort of like an orange, you just keep trying to squeeze out the juice until eventually you've got it all... definitely has been a different way for me to attempt learning up until this point. Listen-read the last 1 hr 1 min of HP1 second pass... At this point I am increasing understanding what is being said, but it crystalizes and fades again... sometimes I understand pretty much everything being said, othertimes I get like 15%... (although it still sounds *familiar*) I'm also starting to get kinda bored with the story... although I miss too much too often to feel comfortable speeding up the audio yet.
My current plan after the next pass of HP1 is to do the Half Blood Prince, although if I don't feel comfortable enough with HP1 I will do a fourth pass, and then eventually Metamorphosis, although three passes of HP1 and HP6 would put me at 24 (done so far) + 9.3 (another HP1 sweep) + 67 (three sweeps of HP6)... in theory I will hopefully be at some level of natural listening after HP6 since my time *with new texts* will be at almost 32 hours, while total time will be at 100.3 hrs. After this weekend though I will be turning down the intensiveness of my attempt though and probably cap myself at 2 hours a day. 1 hr 4 minutes today, Ch14 & 15 third pass... 1 hr 31 left in HP1... Although my comprehension is still some distance from full understanding of what's happening, I think I will move forward after this to the sixth book in the series... my interest with this one is waning.
