After reading this thread through very quickly (I've to do it soon again, more slowly
that time, because now I mainly tried to check that no-one else has already said the songs I have in mind) and since music is really close to my heart I wanted to share some beautiful songs/bands with you. First, there's an amazing experimental folk music band in Sweden called Nordic. They have mainly instrumental songs, but there's also some with lyrics too. You can find their music from their website, but also from Youtube, for example. Apparently it's okay to name some Finnish music here too, although the title says Scandinavian? Well, there's a lovely song called "Myrskyluodon Maija"(Stormkärs Maja in Swedish). Here is an instrumental version of it, but there's also lyrics for the song. I prefer the Swedish lyrics (I have to confess, I don't know for sure which one are the original - Swedish?). Here's a version mainly in Swedish. I had some trouble finding a proper version (sound quality) with singing, but I think that this one is quite nice, although it might be hard to hear the words. Since many mentioned Zen Café here, I thought I might bring up Samuli Putro, the head singer of that band. He’s doing now a solo career and Olet puolisoni nyt is one of his songs. PMMP was (they quitted just this year) also a Finnish band, and one of my favourites. I love their lyrics and music in general. A few examples of their songs: Matkalaulu and Rakkaalleni I could go on and on, but I think I better stop here, before my message grows too long.
