Yep, that's an advantage of learning a Creole language. The places have a nice culture and I have the chance to visit them, so why not learn the language? I think the B1 goal is already accomplished, I'm just sometimes uncertain of when to calque words after Spanish or Portuguese :) And the Dutch words still give some trouble.

- Read the news items Mucha muher perdi a aparece, Bon prestashon tenistanan hubenil and Funmiles ta honra kaheronan ku un bon kune i awaseru di premio.
- I've started reading some of the One Thousand and One Nights' stories in Papiamentu They are at the same website where I take the children stories from, translated by a local poet. Today I read E Sultan y Scheherazade, the first part.
- Watched the video Morning Show Cool FM on Tele Aruba Show 2 Part 1. I don't know why I didn't play it before. It is the radio featured at Marcelo Adnet's program at the Brazilian MTV. The video is the recording of the program, so I get to see all the three speakers talk to each other. So, I get actual natural conversation in Papiamentu instead of all the voice over or interview on documentaries I had seen before! Once again, it is from Aruba. I have yet to find good videos from Curaçao, it is only news, mostly criminal, and music presentations.
- Last, but actually first, I watched the videoclip to the song Lalala, by Izaline Calister. This song is so upbeat! It brought me in a very good mood for the afternoon. It is one of the joys you get for going into all this language-learning stuff, despite all of the disdainful remarks people often make.I really felt proud of sharing at least one part of this simple but enlightening culture of these Caribbean islands.
