Mark: Did you just suggest we call ourselves Team " Fart"?
I am so not voting for that one.
Otherwise, the version of Katusha I was trying to link to was one with a young blonde singer in slightly military
clothing. Less frightening :-) |

Is this the version you meant, perchance?

Есть слово "подфартило" ("повезло"). Мне кажется, что должно быть слово "фарт" в значении
"удача", но для англоязычных оно должно быть смешным. Но, вообще, это была, естественно,
шутка.

Even though my opinion likely counts for next to nothing, I think that this rendition of Kатюша is useful for learners because it's a touch slower and has the lyrics presented as subtitles.

Thanks, Chung, that's a great version too! And here I thought you were uninterested in Russian culture :-)

That's true but I actually came upon these same videos of Катюша after having come across the lyrics in a Slovak comic strip that I translated in January. :-)
(Here's the proof which contains a link to that rendition by the lovely Варвара (i.e. the blonde), and from there I came upon the rendition by the equally lovely Виктория Шмакова in the post above.)

Hi there!
The new Russian team is off to a roaring start with so much activity already on this thread.
I hope there’s still place for one more (almost) former MIR cosmonaut. It’s terrific to meet so many comrades here again and I’m looking forward to getting to know all the newcomers.
@Josquin
Great opening! You’ll be an excellent team leader!
I’ll continue to use my current log also for TAC 2014. Here’s the link.
