I don't think I have seen this posted on this thread, although it's appeared on
several other threads:
Free Podcasts with optional chargeable PDF transcripts for beginners in Danish:
http://www.copenhagencast.com
You can download the podcasts for free, then if you wish you can sign up for the
transcripts at the rate of 10 D Kr per lesson. There are 2 series, and you sign up for
each whole series separately, although series 2 is currently fairly short. I don't know
if it will be continued, but there is enough there altogether for a beginner to be
getting on with. If you sign up for series 2, and she adds to it, you get those as well
for no extra cost, in principle.

Strictly speaking I'm not studying Old Norse, but I'm constantly tempted because it seems like there are lots of
good self-teaching resources available!
Michael Barnes, "A New Introduction to Old Norse"
[this is in use at both Oxford and Cambridge right now, so you know that it's, erm, something that's in use at
both Oxford and Cambridge...]

I just researched it on the internet and found out that it has run out of copyright and is available online for free!
Viking Society
Scroll down until 'A New Introduction to Old Norse' and follow the links.
Direct links to the grammar and the reader.

Wow, thanks so much! I don't think it's out of copyright, but that makes it even more generous of the Viking Society
to offer it anyway.
*downloads*
Maybe I'll have to do some Old Norse after all.

This may just be a temporary or occasional thing, but at the moment, you can apparently
download a free audiobook from Danish Radio P4 here:
http://www.dr.dk/p4/events/sommer-lydboeger-P4
The current offering is "Lars Elstrup from the inside" by Carsten Hansen & Jens Fog
"Jam" Rasmussen.
There is also a link that talks about downloading more books (does not say for free)
with the DR Reading Club.
http://www.dr.dk/Nyheder/Kultur/Laeseklubber/
(I haven't tried downloading the free book, or the Reading Club, so far, so cannot give
an opinion).

Does anyone know any good audio files or podcasts in Swedish with transcripts?

Try Swedish LingQ. You have to register to get the transcripts, but I think you can get
them free (not sure if you get them all).
Some of the documentaries on Swedish Radio have transcripts; most of their podcasts don't
seem to, however.
