I'm interested to join the Assimil experiment.
If I go for the immediate level it will be Assimil Using French.
For a new language I have on my bookshelf: Bulgarien, Greek, Italien, Spanish.
Maybe I buy Assimil Russian.
Most probably I will go for Italien if I pick a new language.

Id like to join.
Maybe get a list of names and the language they want to learn so we can cover as many of
the Assimil? (Not saying that you must pick a language that isnt already chosen, just if
you are divided over picking certain languages then knowing someone is or isnt doing
doing already the language may affect your decision.)

I love the idea. If it's going to be used like some have suggested for the "Assimil experiment," it would
probably be a good idea to standardize how people do the lessons since people tend to use Assimil in very
different ways. It wouldn't have to be exact guidelines, but I know I have read about some people doing the
active phase right away or doing multiple lessons each day.

Fenn - I'll make an official roll call about a month out; right now I think people are
still exploring their options. SO far people have mentioned Dutch Catalan Hebrew
Hungarian Russian Romanian Hieroglyphs Indonesian Latin Norwegian Polish Swahili Greek
Japanese Slovak Ukrainian Turkish Tamil Finnish Swedish Italian Mandarin Bulgarian ....
I think we'll have a good variety whatever people settle on!
psij22 - I agree, we should at least follow the general Assimil guidelines (LR method,
do a passive and an active wave). I assume this is the same format for all languages.

I'll try "El Catalán sin Esfuerzo" in 105 days to see how far a Portuguese speaker with some Spanish and French knowlegde can go.
