Re-did CD#2 of Michel Thomas. Redoing this is helpful, but so incredibly boring.

Fortunately, my middle name is boring. I can handle boring. I can sit through six more hours of boring. Neonqwerty pwns boring.

I have lots to do today, so I'm almost certainly going to limit my Italian to that.

Fantastico! Re-did MT 3, 4 and 5! :)

Today was really great; I spent the day walking around downtown and doing errands (read: Christmas shopping), and it ended up being the perfect environment for me to go over the CDs. Had I done either the shopping or the CDs, I would have been bored to tears... But together, they ended up being really fun.

Cool stuff!

I find that's true for me, too. I don't know how "boring + boring" can become fun, but somehow the time passes really quickly and after it's all done I can't believe I just did all that. A big pile of dishes and Pimsleur is really all I need to be happy :P

I find this to be true too. It has taken me hours to get through one cd of MT at home. But I can do it without any problem when walking around.

Geep up the good work,
Thom.

Finished MT8. Wooo!

Predictably, my plans "have not survived contact with the enemy". In other words, I'm going to change the way and order in which I do things.

As far as written work is concerned, the next step is to finish the reader.
As far as audio is concerned, I'm going to go ahead and start the Foundation Course pretty soon; until I go back to Chicago, I'm probably going to have lots of opportunities to talk around and run errands, and I'd rather not waste them.

Finally, my family and I do a stocking exchange every year, and as luck would have it, this year I have to buy stocking stuffers for... myself. With that in mind, I bought an interesting-looking Italian magazine, so I'll go through that when I want something light.

A domani.

So I did about 30 minutes of the MT language builder today... and WOW. It has more than surpassed my expectations. It is exactly at the correct level for me; I get most of the the answers right without pausing, but it's still slightly challenging. I'm very happy with it!

I also found my old textbook, so I'll go through that when I'm done with the reader... a task that I'm assiduously avoiding.
