Israel is pretty high-tech; a lot of people do business in Tel Aviv. Hebrew would be an asset then.

Has anyone had a look at the new Portuguese course yet? I'm wondering if it's a

I have the new Portuguese course. It is a minor update of the previous Le nouveau Portugais sans peine. Most texts are the same. What is new is the word list at the end of the book, plus some texts from the review lessons (7, 14, etc.) are now recorded.

Reading about all the new languages and new additions that Assmil is coming out with, I
wonder if I should hurry up and buy what's on my wish-list now, or wait. After reading so much about how Linguaphone, Assimil, etc have dumbed-down their materials it's hard to know what newer versions will look like. For me a new edition represents an opportunity to review the A1-A2 levels without having to go through the same lessons again. That is, considering there are 3 different texts for Russian in French, I'd first go through one of them, then another, instead of reviewing the same book (bear in mind I only do one wave, which is active, regardless how it does bad to my reading skills).
