I really didn't know if I should send it to you or post it here...? I'm posting it here this time, just as an example.

Lesson 1

1.     Nick, we have to go to the store.
2.     Where?
3.     The store. Let’s go now.
4.     I have a problem.
5.     What?
6.     I can’t find my shoes.
7.     They are right here.
8.     Thanks, mom.
9.     No problem.

1.      Nick, vi måste gå till affären.
2.     Vart?
3.      Till affären. Vi går nu.
4.     Jag har ett problem.
5.      Vad?
6.      Jag kan inte hitta mina skor.
7.     De är ju här.
8.     Tack mamma.
9.     Ingen orsak.

Lesson 2
1.     Excuse me, sir. Do you have a minute?
2.     Yes. How can I help you?
3.     Where can I find the bakery?
4.     Over there.
5.     And where is the deli?
6.     Go straight and turn right.
7.     I have one more question. Where do I pay for these things?
8.     I don’t know. I’m not a map.

1.     Ursäkta mig, har du tid en stund?
2.     Ja. Hur kan jag hjälpa dig?
3.      Var ligger bageriet?
4.     Där borta.
5.     Och var är delikatessbutiken?
6.     Gå rakt fram och sväng till höger.

8.     Of course! That solves the problem.
9.     I was scared for a second.

1.     Jag skulle vilja ha ett halvt kilo skinka, tack.
2.     Är det allt?
3.     Japp.
4.     Då blir det två dollar.
5.     Men jag har bara en dollar.
6.     Det var synd.
7.     Tar ni kreditkort?
8.     Självklart! Det löser problemet.
9.     Jag blev rädd en stund.

And if anyone now wants to complain about my Swedish, go ahead ^^

Tricoteuse, that looks wonderful. I can definitely follow it just like an Assimil lesson, and when we get another translation, I guess we'll see how it works without the English.

What about the FSI dialogues? You could take the dialogues for multiple languages and put them into the Assimil format. You would have starting audio for at least one language that way.

The FSI dialogues are not graded, and they are very old-fashioned with lots of talk about going to the embassy.

Here's a sample of the first lesson in the French-Swedish-German-English format (I'm not a native French speaker). It looks like you could go from any of the languages to any other and easily understand it. Does anyone have any input?

Lesson 1

1. Nick, nous devons aller au magasin.
2. Où?
3. Au magasin. Allons-y maintenant.
4. J'ai un problème.
5. Quoi? / Qu'est-ce que c'est?
6. Je ne peux pas trouver mes chaussures.
7. Ils sont ici.
8. Merci, maman.
9. Pas de problème.
