I'm sorry to hear about the previous edition of Indonesian; I wonder if the new one will
be any different as its written by the same author. BTW, I was told it should come out in
November.

I was just informed that Assimil is planning on releasing a Persian course for Italian speakers soon... unsure of the exact date though.
Good news for me!

I'm checking the assimil facebook wall, they're comunicating with it now.
From what I've read, mostly french:
For French speakers:
Spanish : advanced method, 2014.
Russian : advanced method, end 2013, early 2014.
Cantonese, end 2013.
Japanese : new method or very updated method, no idea. Early 2013.
Esperanto, not available anymore for sale, will available only online in the future, through their apps probably.
Danish : new method, end 2013, early 2014.
Occitan : new method, normally may 2013.
Chinese : no advanced method for the moment.
Korean : no new method for the moment.
Polish : no advanced method for the moment.
Serbian : they're looking for a good writer to do the method.
Hungarian : new method end 2012.
Czech : early 2013.
Dutch : no advanced method for the moment.
Indonesian : updated edition, 2012.
I think I've read something about Sanskrit and Khmer as well for 2013.
Oh and I just bought the new advanced Italian, it's huge, better than the advanced English, more text, less notes and explanation below, lot of good grammar. More than 4h of audio, the Advanced English, only has 3h30.
Advanced German huge too, had a look at it in the library.
Advanced Arabic looks very good too.
Ukrainian assimil : only 80 lessons, but seems to do the job. Cultural explanations at the end of each lessons. The grammar and the texts seems good, not too short, not too long. Looks like a very serious method.
------------------------------------------------------------
English speakers :
Like russian in 2012 you'll have :
Hebrew : 2013.
Yiddish : 2013.
Spanish : 2013.
German : 2013.
Italian : 2014.
French : 2014.
Ancient Egyptian : 2014.
Brazilian Portuguese : 2014.
And they say they want to create apps for android, apple, say they're very late.

Maybe someone has already made a similar comment, but from the number of duds in the past with some of the "with ease" courses and the English base Using Spanish, you would think the present owner of Assimil would consider coming to these forums and soliciting native language reviewers for both the target and base languages. Compensated for their time with some freebees, I would imagine many here would be willing reviewers. While denizens of these forums might be more critical than Assimil would like, learners with no previous experience simply would be unlikely to make meaningful comments and suggestions.
Of course one would also think that Assimil would consider hiring Dr. Arguelles as a consultant for structure/content, although maybe the company considers the dumbing-down of the method necessary to promote sales to a wider potential audience.

Thanks for the list caracao. No new Arabic for English speakers? A response FireViN received from Assmil earlier this year stated there would be. I hope they haven't changed their minds!

People ask question on the wall, they answer.
For the moment I haven't seen anyone asking about this particular language.
But it seems a good thing, they want to create an English market, that takes time. Don't forget they used to be a French editor mostly.

Not a big deal. Someone here mentioned they were making a new English based Arabic course in 2013. I was just wondering if they changed their minds.
