I've been dreadfully busy lately, as it's the end of the semester at university. I've had a lot of studying to do, as well as a number of papers to write (2 of which aren't yet complete!). I still have one fairly difficult exam to take, regarding the history of Russia, which I have to do tomorrow. I need a short break from the fall of the Romanov dynasty and the rise of the Bolsheviks, however, so here I am.
Today I worked on some French word lists, using Mastering French Vocabulary for my source. I'm enjoying using it as my primary source for now, as my French vocabulary is small enough that when delving straight into the dictionary, I tend to run into many words that I simply don't need yet. Once I finish learning all of the words in it, I think I'll be ready to jump straight into a dictionary for new words.
Also in French this evening, I did something that, considering how long I've been working on French, one would think I would have tried sooner: I wrote a bit in the language. I wrote it at lang-8.com, so as to (hopefully) get corrections. I had to delve into the dictionary a number of times to look up words, but I was surprised to find that other than that, I had little trouble. I blanked completely when I wanted to express something in the subjunctive, but I've spent practically no time studying the subjunctive in French, so the blanking was to be expected.
