Thanks for the recommendations! I really hope I can start a reader sooner than expected!
Right now, learning Russian still causes me a lot of burnout, but it's something I have
to overcome, I nearly did this with German and I can do it with Russian too! I think the
most annoying stage is when you already know basic grammar and vocabulary but you have to
look everything up in the dictionary, and yet you are so eager about reading! I'm sure I
will overcome this by the end of 2013, with the help of my team mates!

I think 2013 is only going to start for me regarding Russian after I've finished my
first Assimil Russian. Currently lessons are a bit annoying, long (especially the notes
in Italian) and dealing with situations I don't plan on dealing with anytime soon (like
going to the theater or talking about the weather).
As for setting monthly goals in terms of completion of tasks, I don't think that would
work out for me. I'd rather set annual goals in terms of level achieved. I study on
workdays whenever is possible, that is, when I'm going to work, I rarely skip a lesson.
On the other hand, on weekends, days off I can't find the way to study calmly when i'm
surrounded by my parents, siblings, in-laws, girlfriend etc. Any time I manage to study
on weekends or on holidays (like right now) should be seen as extra time. I think that
if we count all the days I'm effectively working in 2013, there will be enough days for
me to reach my goals. Besides that, I'm also doing anki almost on a daily basis, even
more on weekends, and that won't let me forget things.
So, tomorrow i'm leaving for holidays (like I wrote at my Norwegian log) and I won't be
able to study from my textbooks for at least 15 days. Maybe by January 20th I'll be
able to study at my parent's home if that doesn't mean being away from them for too
long (My usual study schedule takes me at least 4 hours to be accomplished, also
because I need a mental break from one language to another). Then when I get back to
work on February 1st I'm sure I'll be able to fulfill any tasks. Regarding textbook
completion, I just do one lesson each day during workdays, and based on that we can
have an idea that I might be able to finish one more Assimil book and end the year at
about half way through the third one. During the year, I'll know if I have to try extra
sources. I really like Living Language but I want to get rid of Assimil first. I want
to have enough vocabulary so that, when I try Living Language's grammar explanations, I
can focus mostly on grammar.

Today I could finally study Assimil's lesson 57, after 18 days of no Russian. I must say
I'm completely lost, especially when it comes to verbs of motion. You have to deal with
both specifiness and aspect. I really need to start over, but I plan to finish the
remaining 13 lessons before I do so. Anyway, glad I could resume it. Maybe tomorrow I can
continue, if things go on as planned.

Nice to have you back on the forum!
You mentioned elsewhere that you intend to go through other Assimil books. When you say you intend to start over, do you mean you’ll give the 70-lesson Assimil another chance or that you want to start Russian over with another edition?

I want to start Russian with another edition. As I have three different editions, I think
it's much more fun (or less annoyance =D ) than reviewing a whole book.
I really need basic grammar drilling, though, and I bet you feel the same, from what I
could read from your log.
