Is it too obvious to suggest that you probably have too many add-ons running for your
computer to handle? You mentioned an ad-blocker on the previous page. You also
mentioned using the language challenge page while watching streams. Try switching off
browser add-ons and go to the page without anything else running on your computer.

Sorry if my advice is too obvious and you've already tried it. One more question: have
you tried switching it off and on again?

I'm a bit annoyed about this book prejudice weighting thing on the SC Bot.

I've watched about 11 movies/audiobooks in French and read 2 books, 7 movies in Italian and 3 books, but only a silver star? That is like 30+ hours of work and I only get a silver star?

Viva la revolution! Cinema goers unite! Stick it to the man! Burn the books (well... maybe not go that far... but still ... you see my point)

I agree with weighting books vs films for the overall ranking system depending on which one is least used, but the badges are a reward for individual effort. I've put in a lot of effort and feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick. People who read fast wiz through 5 books in 180 minutes and get the gold for the equivalent of two films worth of time invested.

There I said it... *phew*

The badges don't use any weighting system.

I'm sorry you feel it's still unfair, but I suspect this is a miscommunication of how
the badges work. For the round 'activity' badge, I add up all the study you've done in
the last fortnight, and you get a badge if you've read the equivalent of at least one
whole book, and watched at least one whole film.

That is, it measures how balanced your study is, not just how much you've done. A
silver badge is 2 books AND 2 films, and a gold badge is 5 books AND 5 films. For
example, @VivianJ5 and @LangEmme near the top of the list both obviously favour books,
but both have also watched *at least* 12 hours of movies in the last fortnight.

I've been meaning to put in an explanation section along with the challenge rules, but
things have been a little busy for me recently. It's on my list!

AH! OK that makes sense! Thanks for the explanation, I feel better now. :)

I still don't get it. I finally gained some consistency in Finnish, but it says 2 weeks and not three? I reported items on June 11, 20 and 27. One Wednesday and two Fridays. The badge didn't appear until yesterday.

I went back to the first few pages of this conversation and suddenly realized that I may have been doing the SC
wrong since the beginning! I read in two different ways in Spanish: extensive (novels) and intensive (articles). I've
been counting and tweeting the article pages that I've been reading every week.

Is this ok? I think I just got so excited by the idea of levelling up in Spanish through massive exposure that I didn't
even consider whether or not articles counted as pages read!

What if the language has no articles?
