I managed to complete the film portions of both Italian & French, but basically gave up on the reading because it was just to much. Hopefully it will be easier next time.

People are already starting to think about the next challenge :) Me too, as I know I won't sign up with that many langs this time, but I'm not sure what I'll do.
I'm also determined to get at least one film star in all my languages, and I've de facto reached one book star in Italian (got a lot of books in progress so my ranking still says 20.6). And by a lot I mean a lot.

I managed to finish the SC in Japanese. Reading was much harder for me than watching films: I managed the film side of
things twice over.
Thank you for the challenge BTW: it's been very instructive. Basically I need to read much more :-)

An update: I am convinced I can finish my Spanish SC. Now, I am at 81.2 films and 88.6 books.

I've completed all my goals: a full challenge for French and half challenges for Norwegian, Mandarin, Georgian, German and Russian.
Plus I also completed a double books challenge for French (200 books = 10000 pages) and a full films challenge for Mandarin (150 hours = 100 films).

It's going to be down to the wire for me. I was already behind, and then almost
completely stalled out during August and September. I almost threw in the towel, as I
was running out of Italian and French movies and was hundreds of pages behind in my
reading. Then a couple new international streaming channels came online in the States,
and suddenly I have more than enough to keep me busy and entertained.
French - 85 books down. I'll need to read 115 pages / week to make it.
Italian - 90 books down; will need to read 80 pages /week.
For both languages I switched to page-turners for the final run. With Italian it's
Harry Potter e il principe mezzosangue, and then I have a couple short novels
on my shelf which should take me over the edge. With French it's L'éducation
sentimentale (Flaubert) and Notre-Dame de Paris (Hugo). These definitely
aren't the easiest books on my shelf, but they're big and fat and available on kindle
(so I can read them faster), and both are the kind of epic works that it's easy to
read all afternoon.
French - 95 movies.
Italian - 91 movies.
I shouldn't have a problem finishing the movies part. I'll be closing out the
challenge with Il Commissario Montalbano and Un village français season
3.
